Students lead digital literacy workshops in Kinyinya
Level 5 ICT students organized free digital literacy workshops for community members in Kinyinya sector, teaching basic computer skills and internet safety.

As part of their community service requirement, Level 5 students from SOS Technical High School's ICT programs organized a series of free digital literacy workshops for residents of Kinyinya sector in Gasabo District.
Over three weekends, students taught basic computer operations, internet navigation, email usage, mobile banking, and online safety to more than 60 community members, including local traders, parents, and senior citizens.
"Teaching others reinforces what we've learned and gives back to the community that supports our school," said one of the student organizers. "Many participants had never used a computer before, and seeing their confidence grow over the workshops was incredibly rewarding."
The initiative was supervised by ICT department instructors and received support from the local sector office. Based on the positive response, the school plans to make the community outreach program a regular part of the academic calendar.
