Construction workshops receive major equipment upgrade

New welding stations, pipe threading machines, and safety equipment have been installed in the Construction department workshops, doubling practical training capacity.

Construction workshops receive major equipment upgrade

The Construction Department at SOS Technical High School has completed a significant upgrade to its welding and plumbing workshops, funded through a grant from the SOS Children's Villages International technical education fund.

The upgrade includes six new welding stations with modern MIG and TIG equipment, three pipe threading machines, improved ventilation systems, and a full set of updated personal protective equipment for all students.

"These improvements mean we can train more students simultaneously while maintaining the highest safety standards," said the Head of Construction. "Our graduates will now have experience with the exact equipment they'll encounter on professional job sites."

The upgraded facilities will support both the regular TVET curriculum and new short courses in specialized welding techniques that the school plans to introduce in 2026.
